“Our Eyes Are Upon Thee”

“O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.” 2 Chronicles 20:12

Enemy armies had conspired and enjoined each other, mounted up, and were on their way to destroy the people of God (read this fascinating chapter – 2 Chronicles 20). King Jehoshaphat was informed of his enemies approaching and was smitten with fear as were all of God’s people. The enemy overwhelmingly outnumbered Judah. If the LORD didn’t intervene, their demise was sure. The danger of death was looming, closing in on them. What did the King Jehoshaphat do? He cried out to the LORD in desperation. In essence, this God-fearing leader said “LORD we don’t know what to do! The odds are completely against us! This enemy is much more powerful and insurmountable! But LORD, our eyes are upon Thee O GOD! We will unceasingly seek and praise Thee! We will cling to You O LORD our God! You alone are our Deliverer! God forbid that we commit spiritual adultery by looking to anyone else, including ourselves! We wait upon Thee O LORD. We are fervently seeking You LORD and we know You alone will deliver us! Nothing is impossible with You our LORD!”

“… neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.” 2 Chronicles 20:12

In other words "LORD Jesus, this situation is impossible, but you are the God of the impossible, so we look to You LORD!" Help Jesus! The LORD Jesus says:

“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23

Ever felt overwhelmed? Do you have a situation that is causing you to feel snowed under even now? Do you feel displaced and incapacitated? Is your situation seemingly hopeless? Does this very season find you in dire straits? Fret not beloved saint! Take courage in your God. You are not alone! Even when all men would forsake you, the LORD is standing with you (2 Timothy 4:16-18). Your Redeemer lives and is undertaking your cause. He sees all – the big picture – and is working all these things together for your ultimate good and His glory (Rom 8:28-29).

David, the mighty psalmist and king of Israel, was often attacked, persecuted, and hunted by the enemies of the LORD whom he served. In those situations which appeared overwhelming, impossible, and insurmountable in his limited human site, David cried:

“I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” Psalms 27:13-14

Because you have saving faith, your faith is on trial and the LORD is going to see you through!

“Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 1:6-7

Being broken and desperate is the place to be with God.

“Blessed are the poor (desperate for God; spiritually impoverished) in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:3

“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6

Jesus, please bless us with a heart after You! (Acts 13:22) Unite my heart to fear Thy holy name LORD! (Psalms 86:11)

Bill was Right!

Sitting with my good friend Bill a few months ago, with force and deep hurt and anger I told him that I was done! I was giving up and told him that I was at the end of my rope in the situation I had been enduring and toiling with for a long season. To my surprise Bill looked at me and just broke out into an uncanny and uncontrolled laughter. It was seemingly unbefitting to what I had just told him. There I was, totally distraught, isolated in hopelessness. Bill begins to laugh nearly uncontrollably. He caught me completely off guard with this reaction and then he replied “Todd, this is the exact place to be! You are right smack in the middle of where the LORD wants you! Only now that you are at an end in yourself can the LORD take over and bring the miracles you need!” Bill continued with “Brother, I have seen it over and over that when someone is where you are, the LORD is about to do something big!” Bill was overcome with the joy of the LORD and it outweighed my determination to throw the towel in concerning the seemingly impossible situation I was in.

Bill was right! Jesus truly is our Deliverer.

Friend, you may be in a desperate place at this very hour (season) of your life. This writer, frail, simple, and in need of so much more of Christ, knows exactly this place. God will see you through precious saint. A distressed place is a good place (Matt. 5:3, 6). God has allowed these things in our lives to do a deeper work inside of us which will ultimately result in Him receiving glory and for our good (Romans 8:28). The LORD specializes in hearing and delivering His saints who are more than precious in His holy eyes.

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them ALL.” Psalms 34:19

King Jehoshaphat and God’s people were trapped. They were in big trouble if the LORD didn’t do a miracle as only He could do. Do you think the LORD specializes in showing His infinite might on the behalf of His children? God’s children were cornered with no possible way to defend themselves against this mighty and enormous army that was marching their way with a vengeance. “But” they set their affections upon the LORD and He delivered them as He who is unchanging promises for all of His beloved children. He will do the same for you if you will but cry out to Him as they did.

“O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.” 2 Chronicles 20:12

Are your eyes set upon Him? Are your heart affections gazing adoringly at Him who is your LORD, mighty God, Deliverer, Salvation, Alpha and Omega, and Savior?

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4

The covenant people of the LORD recognized that they were helpless in themselves but that their unchanging LORD and Savior loved them and was ALL-powerful and ALL-mighty. Jahaziel was moved by the Holy Ghost to encourage and tell the people of God – “for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” Watch this:

“And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s. To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you. And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground (worship, thanksgiving, humility): and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD. And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.” 2 Chronicles 20:15-19

Does somebody need to throw those hands up in the air toward Heaven and shout to God with the voice of triumph!? No one is bigger than your LORD and God or even to be compared to Him! He is the only God, Creator, Judge, Deliverer, Savior, and soon coming King of all kings and Judge of all judges. Your sentence comes forth from His holy presence and that’s all that matters. All else will be soon vanquished for ever and ever!

“Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.” Psalms 17:2

Child of God, What do you do when seemingly impossible circumstances surround you? Like King Jehoshaphat and the people we read about here, we should learn to cry out to God and resolutely announce to Him that we do not know what to do and that our eyes are upon Him.

“I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” Psalms 34:4

How many times do we find ourselves without the answer? Without the solution? Without hope? At the end of our rope? What do we do in those pinch time valleys of decision? From now on, may God bless each of us to cry out to Him – to depend upon and seek His holy face, and know He will deliver!

At this time, in your heart, you may be saying “LORD….

• “I have a sin that is plaguing my life that I can’t seem to overcome!”
• “I need fellowship with other believers! Please send me some Jesus!”
• “My finances are doomed!”
• “My rent or mortgage is past due!”
• “My child(ren) are not walking with Jesus! Please help LORD!”
• “I feel so lonely!”
• “My spouse is not doing right!”
• “I am facing a horrendous legal battle. Please help me Jesus!”

No matter what you may be facing or will face in the coming days – the LORD is greater than that problem no matter how big or impossible it appears. Always remember these words of hope our Savior left us with:

“And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” Mark 10:27 (memory verse of truth)

PRAYER: Jesus, You are the LORD Almighty and I look to You this very moment! I love You my LORD. Thank You for creating, dying for, and finding me, and for bringing me into Your kingdom. Right this moment, if never before, I lay my life in Thy holy hands and rest in You alone and not in my own ability to manipulate the situation I am currently facing. Release me from all fear and the torment it brings. I trust You LORD and know that You truly are working all these things I am enduring for your glory and my good. Please break me deeper and multiply Your grace and the fear of the LORD in me. I agree with Your Word which tells me that the joy of the LORD is my strength! I shout unto God with the voice of triumph because I know You alone have given me and all Your children the victory! Amen Jesus!

ALL THINGS WORKING TOGETHER FOR YOUR GOOD

Are "all things" good? Or, do "all things work together for good" in the life of the person who is truly seeking after the Lord?

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren." Romans 8:28-29

Notice that this Romans 8 text doesn't say that all things are good, but that "all things work together for good."

It is more than obvious that all the things that come our way are not coming from the Lord, yet He allows those things and even helps us "escape." (1 Corinthians 10:13; Job 1-2). It is clear that the Almighty cannot be tempted with evil (James 1:13) and that "The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it." (Proverbs 10:22) Furthermore, we know that "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." (James 1:17)

In "all things" that come our way the Lord is working to form the Person of Jesus Christ in us as we have been predestined to be conformed to (Rom. 8:29).

At this time you may be entangled with trials and tribulations from seemingly every angle - coming at you relentlessly. Are you experiencing financial, marital, work-related difficulties?

“Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.” Isaiah 50:10

Remember that your current season will change. This trial shall come to pass (1 Peter 1:6).

Persevering and overcoming in trials, temptations and struggles provides the stepping stones to maturity.

Determination and perseverance are the indispensable character traits possessed by life's greatest achievers.

In all this that you may be suffering, please prayerfully remember that ALL these things are working together for the glory of God in your life. He is using them to cause your heart to be conformed to the image of Christ as you seek His face, totally relying upon Him in these tests. He is making you complete, mature so that you lack nothing spiritually.

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting (lacking) nothing.” James 1:2-4

One of the temptations of the trial is to turn on God and blame Him, or to imagine that He doesn’t know your state of struggle or care.

“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7

Have you ever blamed God? Are you blaming Him for anything in this season of your life? Remember, the LORD is for you. He loves you more than you could know and, “If God be for us, who can be against us”? (Romans 8:31)

"In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly." Job 1:22

What’s in Your Mouth?

What’s in Your Mouth?

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8

When is the last time you heard “Jesus says …..” or “The Holy Spirit/LORD told us that …..” Quoting Holy Scripture is all too rare these days and yet it shouldn’t be. – “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth …”

When is the last time you spoke God’s Word aloud? – “He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.” (Prov. 12:17)

Are you ashamed of Jesus Christ?

“Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.” Luke 12:8-9

Beloved, let us repent and return to our God and begin speaking forth His holy truth in His love.

If you could choose, just who would you want representing you? According to Joshua 1:8 of God’s Word, prosperity and success come from the LORD alone. Do you want the Son of God talking you up in Heaven to the Father? If so there are some things you should know. Jesus told you that He confesses you to the Father in Heaven as you confess Him and His holy Word to men on earth (Mk. 8:34-38). Get that mouth open for the One who made and died for your sins and the sins of the whole world (1 Jn. 2:1-2). Watch how God blesses your life!

May the LORD this hour unite our hearts to fear His holy name and obey Him in telling others of His goodness and love (Ps. 86:11; Eph. 4:15).

MAKING PEACE WITH GOD by todd tomasella

Making Peace with God

Are you ready to Pass from Death to Life?

The most astounding event of human history occurred when this man, Jesus Christ, died on a Roman cross. When He died, an untimely darkness covered the land at 3 p.m. and an earthquake occurred as He took His final breath. This man called Jesus was crucified. 3 days later He was raised from the dead! Here’s why He died:

“But your iniquities (sins) have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” Isaiah 59:2

God is holy and our sins separate us from Him. We have all broken God’s laws by lying, dishonoring our parents, cheating, hating, committing a sex act in our mind with someone we are not married to, stealing, coveting, taking His holy name in vain, etc. These are all sins against God and we are all guilty. Committing any single one of these sins makes us guilty of breaking the whole law and worthy of death.

Divine justice demands that our violations be punished. Because we are guilty of breaking God’s holy law, we deserve to be fairly repaid for our offenses. God doesn’t want us to be punished in hell forever though, so He sent His Son to pay the debt for us, so we would not have to pay for our own sins in eternal hell as we clearly deserve, but rather live now and forever with Him. What love!

At the end of a perfect (sinless) life, Christ carried the very cross He was to be nailed to. His infinite love for you, along with the nails driven through His hands and feet, held Him to that cross as He agonized for 6 hours in pain – to pay for your sins. He was crucified to make peace between God and man. The Son of God bridged the gap that sin had caused. This wonderful man named Jesus, chose to shed His life blood (die – in excruciating pain) for you rather than live without you. He loves you.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Christ died to fully pay for the sins of the human race (John 19:30). God loves us and wants us to experience relationship with Him, now and forever (John 17:3). Friend, who else has ever died for you but Jesus, the Good Shepherd?

“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly (that’s you).” Romans 5:6

“Christ Jesus came into the world to save (rescue) sinners.” 1 Timothy 1:15

No religion or religious figure can save your soul from hell (no matter what they claim). Jesus didn’t come to start a religion but rather to establish His eternal kingdom in the hearts of men, granting them a relationship with God. Jesus Christ is the only One who bears nail-scarred hands and feet for your sins. He is the only way to God and your only hope.

“For there is ONE God, and ONE mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy 2:5

The Son of God died and rose again to take away all your sins. He was the only One qualified for the job and He is the only One worthy of your worship. Peace With God Happens When We Meet the Prince of Peace.

By no accident, you are reading this message. This is your moment in history to be saved. Praying and doing good deeds and going to church will save no person from eternal punishment – “For by grace (undeserved favor) are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9). Only the good work of Christ shedding His sinless blood on the cross for you will save the soul as one repents before a holy and righteous God and Judge. If you are going to get right with the LORD and go to Heaven, there must be a moment of reckoning. Now is your time to be saved. No one will ever through a life of good works earn God’s favor. There must of necessity be that divinely-defining moment when you lay your whole life/being/existence into His perfect, holy hands.

Now apply His holy blood to your life so that you may live now and eternally with Him. You must completely turn your life over to Him and turn away from all your sins – repent. Now, pray this prayer to God with all that is within you, from your heart and out loud: “Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for shedding Your holy blood for my sins to save me from eternal damnation in hell. You are my only hope. Heavenly Father, I acknowledge all my sins against You right now, and ask Your forgiveness through the precious blood of Jesus, who died and rose again for me. Lord Jesus, take over my life right now and forevermore. I love You. Amen.”

The supreme goal and deepest desire of their lives is to know Him yet more and more (Jn. 17:3; Phil. 3:10). God’s Word is your Textbook for life and not a man’s book or commentary.

A FRESH START WITH GOD by todd tomasella

You can Have a ...

A FRESH START WITH GOD

“Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?” Ezekiel 18:31

“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.” Ezekiel 36:26-27

New Creatures in Christ

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-18

Fresh Forgiveness

“Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall. My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.” Lamenations 3:19-26

Fresh Oil

“But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.” Psalms 92:10

Are you in need of a fresh beginning? Are you genuinely open to and ready to hear and obey the truth in order to be blessed with a new beginning? If so, keep reading, open your whole heart, and get ready to be blessed.

1. Schedule God into your very waking moments for prayer communion and the study of His Word (Ps. 5:3; 63:1; Mk. 1:35). He is the Cornerstone of your day and life.

2. Study God’s Word diligently: Get blank index cards and get ready to begin capturing God’s Word and memorizing it (Prov. 4:4, 21; Jn. 5:39; 2 Tim. 2:15). Carry those Scriptures on index cards where ever you go and read, meditate and memorize them. Feed on God’s Word (1 Pet. 2:2).

3. Get a King James Bible and discard all artificial, supposedly “easy to understand” counterfeit, corrupt Bible versions. See “Bible Versions” page at www.SafeGuardYourSoul.com

4. Confess, repent of, and forsake all known sins before the LORD, beginning with the sin of not placing the LORD first in your life (Exod. 20:3-4; Prov. 28:13; 1 Jn. 1:9).

5. Be resolved in the truth that you have been granted a whole new life and that you are not your own but the LORD’s who bought you with His precious blood (Acts 20:28; 1 Cor. 6:19-20; 2 Cor. 5:17-18).

6. Daily expect persecution, suffering, testings, and trials for the Word’s sake (Mk. 4:17; 2 Tim. 3:12; James 1:2-4; 1 Pet. 4:12).

7. Communicate the Gospel of Jesus to others in everyway that you possible can. Number your short days on this earth and redeem or buy back for lost time (Ps. 90:12; Eph. 5:16). Ask the LORD to make you fruitful in His eternal kingdom and that your fruit will remain (Ps. 2:8; Jn. 15:16).

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalms 51:10

66 Course Meal by todd tomasella

“A Continual Feast”
66 Course Meal

"He that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast." Proverbs 15:15

Those who partake of, participate with, and experience relationship with Jesus Christ enjoy the bountiful and unending benefits and blessings of the KING's kingdom (Revelation 21-22). Is your heart merry today? If not - feed it with God's holy truth, turning fully to Him afresh in unreserved surrender. Then, you will have "a continual feast." He will fill you, and bless you by His grace to love and serve Him in the blessed fear of the LORD.

Abiding in fellowship with Jesus means that you can ask what you will and it will be done. Jesus promised that “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” (John 15:7) That is part of the “continual feast” the LORD has reserved for those who know and seek His face continually. Blessed be Jesus!

There are 66 glorious books in God's Word to feast upon. Read, study, chew on, and digest these words of life. His Holy Spirit is the Teacher of all who know Him. "Blessed is he that readeth." (Revelation 1:3)

What happened to the LORD's servant Jeremiah when he chose to find and eat the words of the LORD? .....

"Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts." Jeremiah 15:16

"A continual feast" happens when we continually feed our hearts and lives with the precious Precepts of the LORD, counting them more important than our life-sustaining physical food.

"Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food." Job 23:12

To be bless you must read and do His Word. That's when the "continual feast" begins.

"The Good of the Land" .....

Tuck your feet under the table of the LORD beloved. Seek Him! There is nowhere else to turn except toward death.

God really does want to bless you - BUT that will only happen as you seek and serve Him - on HIS terms - His way and not your own (Proverbs 3:5-7).

"Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually." 1 Chronicles 16:11

God does want you to "eat the good of the land" but how does that happen?

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it." Isaiah 1:18-20

When you “Come” to the LORD, you must be “willing and obedient” to confess your sins and when you do He will cleanse them completely and you will then begin to “eat the good of the land.” Yet, if you “refuse and rebel,” attempting to do things your own way – on your own terms – you will be “devoured by the sword” of His perfect judgment.

Have you ever scheduled, planned, and invited others to come over and eat with you only to have very few or no one show up? How did that make you feel? Not good, right?

I wonder just how the LORD feels when those He saves refuse to come and partake of the blessings He died to procure and lives to provide for them?

Spiritual food and feeding is essential to sustaining a life with God. Eat up and you will be blessed. Otherwise, you will famish to spiritual death (Matthew 25:1-13).

"As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious." 1 Peter 2:2-3 (KJV)
